Black Lagoon: More Revy Work
I finally got Revy going again and slipped on the awesome holster I got for the figure. Worked like a charm! Murray from CORRIGAN HOLSTERS did an amazing job!
The little detail is really pulling it all together. Now I just need to work on the tattoo :::cringe::: and not mess it all up!
I also did a little work on her cutlass' and I think they turned out rather well.
As always, comments welcome!

Getting Started in Toy Photography
I saw this and thought the group might dig it. I hope you can access the link.
"I collect toys and I love photography. Combine the two together and you’ll embark on a journey filled with fun, adventure and new discoveries every time you go out and shoot. I’m no pro, but I’d like to share with you some of the things I’ve learned through experience, research and experimentation as I went through my own journey in this fascinating (and did I say fun?) photographic field."

3A Michael Lau 12"
"3A Michael Lau 12" figure SDU ThreeA authentic" eBay sale $300
I ventured to a little store by where I work and managed to snag something that might be worth some money. An old 12" Michael Lau kit I remember seeing back in the day. Hand made shoes, custom head sculpt and some awesome accessories.
MUCH thanks to Robin at Heroes Club for helping me put this image set together!

Jim's Dollhouse Printables
Nice little site with various printable items for scale figures and locations.
"PLAYSCALE" is the area for 1/6th scale figures.

Zombie Stand Off at work
The upside about having a bookshelf at work, but not having enough book items to need it? ZOMBIE ATTACK area at work! I was looking at this the other day and thought that I might work up a little background for this as well. BIOHAZARD signs, a door...etc. Nice to look up here at work while dealing with work issues and see the battle raging on while I think to myself, "Well, it could be worse I guess." :)
Black Lagoon Kitbash: Holster is finished!
I just got word that the custom hoster I had made for my BLACK LAGOON kitbash is ready for shipping! Murray from CORRIGAN HOLSTERS did an amazing job!
This holster will go on the Revy figure. Completing the figure with a tattoo on her arm and some of the Triad gun hands - she is called Two Hands for a reason, after all! - will make me a happy boy....until the next bash I wanna do, of course.... :)

DEAD CELL: Jade Van Helsing figure from Triad
This is the latest offering from Triad Toys and it's looking cool so far.
http://www.triadtoys.com/Products/Dead+Cell/JADE+12+INCH+FIGURE.html
I got one of the Triad figures a while back and they are sturdy little things, but the price point makes me shiver a bit. Like all figures of this style now, the price is in the $120 range and it puts it above and beyond what I'd spend on something that has no emotional tie-in for me. However, as figures go, I think this shows more style and "cool factor" than the Black Widow figure from IRON MAN 2 which looks like she's just...confused. :)
Nice stuff. However, if I'm going to drop many dollars on a figure, I think I'd go with something that had more of emotion tie to what I dig like the IRON MAN MARK III or the APEXPLORERS SPACE ADAM figures.
Cool figure, however. Toss in a vampire or three for her to fight and you'd have a lovely little set!

The coolest stuff is hard to find
SCALE STORE
http://www.asiascalestore.com/
I saw this place and nearly jumped out of my seat. They have some of the coolest diorama supplies I have ever seen. Really amazing stuff...that'll be almost impossible to find. They only sell to retailers, evidently. I'm not sure I will ever be able to locate any of this! :(
They have TONS of fun diorama items. Street squares, statues, ship cabin doors and more.
WANT! If you have any leads, please let me know.

LOVIE dovies
Just a little kitbash project with some spare parts. I was going to make something more "gun related", but seeing them together brought something more romance related to mind. :)

Action figure awesomeness: HEROES CLUB in San Francisco
840 Clement Street
San Francisco, CA 94118
(415) 387-4552
If you're a 1/6th scale nut like me, you need to venture over to HEROES CLUB in San Fracisco at once.
HEROES CLUB is the best figure shop in San Francisco. Actually, the best in the Bay Area. The shop is stocked with both recent scale figures and some cool figures from a while back. Heroes Club packs quite a punch when it comes to selection.
The layout of the store is comfortable as well. Far too many places I've ventured into have the stock crammed into corners and up the the ceiling in tiny shops - an arrangement nightmare that makes it painful to browse. Heroes is grand. Well lit and spacious, a collector can not only see the boxes clearly, but can also browse the store length glass case that houses many of the figures that are for sale in the shop. Fantastic if you're shopping or just browsing.
The owner also has a vast array of kit-bashed and custom figures that are amazing! He painstakingly creates figures and has them up for viewing so that others can get ideas and enjoyment out of them. Time and time again I roam the glass wall taking in th workmanship. He even makes items that you can purchase. Fantastic workmanship. Well worth checking out.
If it sounds like I'm gushing over this shop, it's only because I am! :) The shop is pleasant, the owner friendly, and the prices are comparable to fair market.
Can you find things cheaper online? Maybe. But, supporting local owners and real world, physical shops is something people should do more of. Not to mention the fact that you have a real person behind the counter who is willing to stand behind his merchandise and service. And, you get to walk out with something without waiting weeks for the item and paying shipping costs! :)
Heroes Club is hands down my favorite 1/6th scale figure shop!

Apexplorers
APEXPLORERS: End of the Search
I really wanted the LITTLE SHADOW figure for this set up instead of Blue here, but I think the blue haired BBI figure is working for the set. The Apexplorer figure is such and extreme design that it's hard to find something to go along with it unless you get another figure from that particular set.

Black Lagoon: Revy and Dutch
Not 100% done yet, but coming along.
I still need the double holsters for Revy - I have some customs being made from CORRIGAN HOLSTERS. Pretty exciting.

Black Lagoon: Revy Shorts
I started to work on the cutoff shorts for Revy based off of some standard male jeans and was doing rather well for a while. I made some small cuts at first to get things rolling, then started to shape the leg openings and style them.
When I got the base worked out, I started to notice something. The fit of the jeans was off at the crotch and it wasn't fitting tightly like it should. I wasn't sure what I was going to do to fix it, but after sitting with it a moment I came up with a plan of action.
Sewing! :) I just snipped the center section to open them up, pinned the crotch where I wanted it to fit, then sewed it at that spot. Now, don't get my wrong - I have NO idea what I'm doing save some classes in high school and remembered conversations with an old girlfriend who did a lot of sewing. But, it wasn't that tough and it turned out like I wanted.

Little Shadow - Fun figure!
I LOVE this threeA figure, but it seems to have come and gone on me in some strange, short run. While threeA has some great designs, the figures tend to e priced out of my - and many others! - price ranges. While this figure comes in at a moderate $80.00, others fetch up to $600 plus in certain areas.
The design is grand and the style is fun on Little Shadow and I would have loved her to sit along side my Apexplorer figure I guess I'm better off in the long run!

DEEP RED: Dario Argento Tribute Figure
Horribly betrayed by her womanizing husband, Daria slips the mask onto her disfigured face. Shivering, she slips into the shadows, scythe in hand, to exact revenge.
Certain people start disappearing around her murderous husband and he starts to understand his situation.
“It's my wife!” His voice trembles as he pleads for the detective on the case to do something.
“I thought you said you saw her die in the fire...”
Suspicion drives the detective to examine the husband's story a little closer.
The husband decides to find his “dead” wife and finish the job.
The players meet at the end of their journey and the final act is as vicious and cruel as the first.
Revenge is hers.
