Maschinen Krieger

Maschinen Krieger
By far, one of my little dream figures. I'd love to get one and properly customize it. Of course, I'd have to learn to expertly use an airbrush before that happened. :)

At a price point of  over $1,300 for the Snowman version (Hobby Link Japan - http://www.hlj.com/product/MED30328) it's one of the more pricey 1/6th scale items out there, but it's oh so cool.

The SNOWMAN version may be too cute for some, but there are other versions

I have to say that i like the "Original" S.A.F.S. version of this the best, though I think a repaint would be interesting. Maybe a more extreme camo version or one with some additional details dropped in. Something like the 08th MS Team Gundam looks. More like a tank.

The version above really hit a lot of the marks that I was talking about earlier. A detailed cockpit with some nice attention to detail. It's a great piece I will never own. :)

Sea Monkey

Kenny Wong and Ashley Wood do have their way with figures. Yes, at times I have a hard time with the threeA repainting madness. Multiple paint ups of the same figure. They tend to wear out their welcome after a while.

"Here it is in red....yellow.....blue.....camo...."

But, they make cool figures. Damn cool.

The new DAMN COOL! figure they have going is THE SEA MONKEY. This deep dive suit kicks much buttocks. Light on external details, but heavy on style, this figure would be a fantastic addition to my collection! :) Sadly, there still is no release date for it. (Or price)

More great steampunk-like goodness. You get the great bendy arms, air hoses and dive windows. This LONGS to be weathered and detailed. A nice rust or patina would be fantastic on this figure. The inside would be cool to detail out as well. There are multiple pipes, cords and tubes that would add another level of cool if painted. I always freeze up when I think about painting these figures. Especially when you're dropping hundreds of dollars on them.

And, of course, you get the delicious driver for the figure as well. The bikini clad, Ashley Wood special in all her femme fatal glory.

I can see a few downsides with the figure - they must be called out. These are not "action figures". There's not a lot of action here. There will not be action pose possibilities for either of these figures. They are really just art pieces. But, sweeeeeeeet art pieces.

From http://threeawiki.com/Sea_Monkey
"Sea Monkey is a figure created and designed by Kenny Wong, and produced by ThreeA under the Showcase toy line, that marks the first collaboration between Ashley Wood and Kenny Wong. This figure is a part of Kenny's Copperhead-18 universe and features a female pilot named Snowpea who will be Ash's contribution to the product. Although Sea Monkey has been featured at both Hong Kong Venture (2009) and Taipei Toy Festival (also 2009), the figure still has yet to see release."

ToysREvil has a little work in progress video up as well.

DIG Copperhead

The DIG - Copperhead-18 is another one that got away. After making a MASSIVE purchase (for me, anyway) of an IRON MAN, I'm having a little buyer remorse after seeing that this figure is $200 and it has a custom style that would have gone well with my APEXPLORER. Less mainstream and more cool than IRON MAN, but without the tie to my childhood that IRON MAN holds. So...I guess I'm still ok with it. I guess. :)

The figure is a KENNYSWORK figure and has a fantastic, fantasy aspect to it. Very Jules Verne or steampunk. There are multiple versions of the figure, but it had a rather limited run, so the market wasn't flooded like 3A products of late. (With multiple repaints of the same figure coming on the daily. :)  )

Grab it if you can find it! (And, ship it to me. Come on. Be a pal....)  ;)

The DIG - Copperhead-18 Sixth Scale Figure features:
Copper helmet
Mesh Cutter
Pressure fish spear
Copper fake leg
Adjustable balanced regulator
Rebreathers
Chain-mail gloves
Copper bottom boot
Suction and Exhaust hose
Pressure suit
Metal detector and emergency air-supply (Mecha Pentapus)
