The Italy Crossover - 2022 - PART 10 - Lost Hopes

Olivia Moore's mysterious warlock motions for Fortuna to follow, but she stops and falls back against the wall.

 "Hey...you ok?"

Fortuna raises her hand and stares just above it as a strong vision fills her head. Her eyes are bright and wide as she stares upwards at the scene.

A man...the man. Angela's husband, the policeman. Hurt. Violence.

The thinning veil.

The White Death.

Outside of the City....down...dark...below....

Fortuna draws in a breath.

"We need to go NOW, Fortuna." The man stares out to the street, then looks back at Fortuna as she starts to sob.

"I need to make a call. It's urgent."

The man barks out, "If you follow me...and we can get out of this death trap of an ally before the big blonde bitch comes stomping at us, I'll let you make all the calls you want from my car. Please...let's GO."

Fortuna nods and follows.

The man thinks, "Jesus...like Tampere all over again..." and heads for his car.

Vanda and Fabrizia are stunned.

Fabrizia starts to say something, but no words come.

Mr. Morelli was directly involved with their aunt's death. It was official.

Jennifer was sobbing when she left them, but she had to tell the twins in person.

 Fabrizia and Vanda were devastated.

Madame Rosetti speaks, but her voice is young and vibrant, not the old woman she was.

"Your husband is alive, but gravely injured. Somewhere on the coast. He's fighting. Fighting so hard. And so sad. He's reaching out to you for strength. You need to remain positive. Open to him. He's fighting so hard to get back to you."

A man barks something at her.

"I have to go. I'll call again soon!"

"Madame Rosetti!?! Madame Rosetti?!?" Angela stares at her phone blankly.

Days of sleepless night and unanswered prayers are taking its toll, but the call pushed her right over the edge.

Her hands shake. She feels light headed. Her fingers fumble over the phone for the speed dial number Chief Trevisan put in, but she can't lift the phone to her ear.

"Angela?" His voice sounds small and worried as it squeaks from the phone's ear speaker.

"Angelo is alive. He's on the coast. He....."

"Angela are you in his office? I'll come to you. You sound..."

The phone hits the floor and the Chief's small voice can be heard.

"Angela? ANGELA?!"

Angela lays passed out on the floor.

Curious Cat 01

Martine checks on Vitale and finds little change in his condition. She moves out of the room quickly, slips through the halls of the old house, and circles back to Elke's little meeting room. She moves to the table and looks over the documents there.

Many have Detective Vitale's name on them. Some have the names of the dead detectives.

"Daniele Villanueva...Detective Chelsea Bruni..." she whispers, scanning the files.

There's a map of South America and another of North America. Marine scans another document - handwritten in Elke's hand.

"Olivia Moore?" Martine shakes her head. "Just more and more heat for us. This...."

She stops when she hears someone...or something...moving down the back stairs.

"Shit..." She makes a break for the opposite door. She needs to get back to Vitale's room.

Curious Cat 02

Danuta stomps forward pushing Martine back into the room.

"Well well well...this isn't the detective's room now is it?" She smirks. "Curiosity killed the cat, Cousineau."

Martine starts chanting something, her eyes focused on Danuta's.

Danuta grips Martine's shirt and shoves her back against the table.

"Are you F^CKING KIDDING ME?" She laughs. "None of your freak magic tricks or I'll send you right back to Hell."

Martine gasps and tries to shove away. "OK! OK! Let me go! Laisse-moi partir putain, salope d'amazone!"

"Flattery will get you nowhere." Danuta lets her go and waits for her to adjust herself. "Do we have a problem here? Anything you want to discuss, Martine? Besides the creepy fact that you hide in this....teen girl body." Danuta smirks.

Martine says nothing.

"Whatever...that's your kink...or whatever the hell it is." Danuta stares. "We are still on the same page, yes? Oui?" She grins.

"Yes! You know I'm loyal to Morte Bianca. I always have been, you beast." Martine frowns.

"Good girl. Why don't you run back to your patient and leave the document reading to the adults. Off you go. Scoot!"

Martine turns and heads for the door and Danuta gives her backside a hard slap.

Martine makes her hands into fists and leaves - furious.

"Little freak." Danuta stares on and whispers, "I think it may be time for Morte Bianca to lay down the law." Her brow furrows.

Inner Circle ⭕️

Elke and Dunuta slip outside together.

Danuta has made sure that she is by Elke's side as much as possible. She wants to be remembered as the one who is there to call on when needed.

"Luciana is resting at the bottom of the Tyrrhenian Sea now. Martine is taking care of the detective." Danuta thinks. "She's been poking around. I found her looking at the documents and photos in The Room."

Elke looks far away - lost in thoughts kept to herself.

Danuta looks at Elke. "Should I...bring her to you?" Danuta waits a beat, then looks away again.

The two stand in silence for a long while.

Elke looks up. "I want you to make contact with Bruni. She needs to let me know just how many locks are left and where they are. This week. Period. Once we have that information, You and I will start our work...to UN-lock them." Elke looks up at the setting sun. "Martine keeps the detective alive and well enough to travel. After that, she too can explore the bottom of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Esmerelda, Jean-Paul, and Lucian as well along with the remaining zombies."

Danuta nods. "Understood."

"I want you to start looking at our path to the United States as well. The three locations in South America and the others in the US where you and I will be staying. I'd like your opinion on them."

"Yes...Elke." Danuta waits to be corrected, but nothing more is said. A smile crosses her face.

Vitale stirs and his eyes flutter open. The throbbing pains in his side warn him not to move too much. Some sort of pot simmers and sends a floral and spiced scented vapor into the room. His dreams were plagued with insane images.

 Demons, ghosts...and witches.

His thoughts grind away from dreams into the reality of the situation.

Segreto and Zampa...dead. Brutally murdered.

His teeth clench.

He hears footsteps and looks towards the door.

A small girl walks towards the bed. What was she - 16? 17? She pours more liquid into the vapor pot, then sits on the bed.

 "How are you feeling?"

French. He makes note of it.

"I want to leave."

She looks down at him. "And you will. You just need to be well enough to travel. Tomorrow. Maybe the day after." She pauses, then whispers, "Your friends were supposed to go with you. You were all supposed to go free. That was the plan. I was not involved. I had nothing to do with it." She sounds disgusted and sad.

He doesn't care. "But, you'll still hang for it if you don't get me out of here. I don't want to have...an accident...like the others." He thinks, then says, "Can you get me out? If you do, I'll do what I can to protect you. See to it that you don't hang like the others will."

Martine looks worried. She wrings her hands. "Say nothing more. I'll be back."

Vitale watches her go and hopes that his gambit works.

––––––––––––

Elke asks Danuta to leave her in the room for a moment and Danuta bows her head and exits, shutting the door behind herself.

A smile crosses Elke's face as she reaches out. Excitement and passions build in her as she reaches out for the lovely agent again. (Andreea)

The blonde hair. The mind full of strict guidelines and ways to be. The playground for Elke's cruel pushes and visions.

Elke lifts her hands and stretches out to the ether searching for the thin threads that connect her to the lovely agent. Her heart races. This was her release. Her lustful pleasure.

Elke focuses harder and the threads appear in her mind.

"There you are, lovely agent....." Elke follows the threads and focuses on the nightmare visions she wants to push into the agent's mind, but when she reaches her....no...something is wrong.

Elke pushes harder. Control. She pushes and reaches...but something blocks the path.

Something...magical? No...more base. Of the Earth. She can feel its vibrations.

"Amethysts...?" Elke growls and rubs her wrists, her head throbbing from her efforts.

First Olivia's traumatic push back, now this foolishness?!

"DANUTA! Get me Bernedetta and Martine. NOW!?"

She's done. So done with all of this.
